Wood & Huston Bank Field Goal Contest

OVERVIEW:

On Friday, October 3,2025, Wood & Huston Bank (the “Sponsor”) will be hosting a field goal kick contest before the Higginsville Husker Varsity Football game (the “Contest”). Fans of the Lafayette County C-1 Husker High School Football team are encouraged to enter for a chance to win up to $1,000 cash. Register before the game during the Wood & Huston Tailgate Party.

ELIGIBILITY:

The Contest is open to legal residents of the United States including the commonwealths, territories, and possessions who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry.

Employees, officers, directors, and agents of Wood & Huston Bank and their immediate families (parents, siblings, and spouse) and members of their household (whether or not related), who are involved in any aspect with the creation, production, operation, execution, and fulfillment of the Contest are not eligible to enter.

Employees of Lafayette County C-1 High School or school association and their immediate families (parents, children, siblings, and spouse) and members of their household (whether or not related) are not eligible to enter.

TO ENTER:

Compete for an entry form and drop into the entry box located at the Wood & Huston Bank tent in the parking lot by the C-1 football field.  The entry deadline is Friday, October 3, 2025, at 5:55 PM CT.

By entering the Contest, the entrant agrees to be bound by the terms of these Official Rules. Wood & Huston Bank (the “Promotion Entity”) is not responsible for late, incomplete, void, corrupted, misdirected, or otherwise erroneous entries, or for any problems, malfunctions or technical difficulties that arise in the entry process. Any incomplete or incorrect entries will be void. Proof of submission will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by Wood & Huston Bank (the “Contest Entity”). Once submitted, all entries shall be the property of the Contest Entity. All entries submitted in compliance with these Official Rules and not disqualified by Contest Entity are considered “eligible entries.”

SELECTION:

All entries must be received by the entry deadline of Friday, October 3, 2025, at 5:55 PM to be eligible.  Three (3) contestants will be selected at random immediately following the entry deadline. 

Each Contestant will be notified via public announcement at 6:15pm, before the start of the football game activities.  Once three qualified contestants agree to participate in the kick for cash all other entries are considered void.

 DISQUALIFICATION:

It is the contestants’ responsibility to ensure compliance in all respects with the official rules. The Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the prize claim possesses or the operation of the Contest; acts in violation of these official rules; or acts in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner; or with the intent to disrupt or undermine the legitimate operation of the sweepstakes, or to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. The Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages and other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.

PRIZE KICK CONDITIONS:

Up to three Contestants will be allowed one attempt to kick a successful 30-yard field goal (attempt to take place at the 20-yard line). The following requirements apply to each kick attempt:

  • Each participant must attempt the field goal kick on their own behalf. No one may attempt the kick the field goal on behalf of another participant.
  • Athletic shoes and rubber cleats are permitted.  Boots, sandals, and shoes with metal spikes are not permitted.
  • Participants are required to use the footballs and kickoff holder tees provided by Sponsor.
  • Participants may not attempt any practice or warm-up kicks in any manner from any distance.
  • Each field goal attempt must be initiated from Sponsor’s designated hash mark on the field.
  • All field goal kick attempts must occur in the presence of Sponsor’s representatives.  Any field goal kick attempt not in the presence of Sponsor’s representatives will be disqualified and is not eligible.
  • The football must go through the goal post on the fly, without bouncing or coming in contact with the ground or any item, person, or surface that would alter or enhance the flight path of the football (except the inside of the goalposts).
  • No aid of any kind may be given to any participant in this Promotion.  Nothing may be done to the football, goal posts, participant’s footwear or playing surface that would enhance the participant’s chances of successfully completing the kick.
  • Sponsor’s decisions as to the administration and operation of this Promotion is final and binding in all matters related to the Promotion.

At no time while participating in the Contest should any contestant: (a) be under the influence of drugs or excess alcohol; (b) promote drinking and driving or the excessive or irresponsible consumption of alcohol; (c) promote the illegal use of alcohol, drugs, or violating any law; (d) communicate messages or images inconsistent with the positive images and/or goodwill to which Sponsor wishes to associate; (e) be sexually explicit or suggestive, violent or derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group, or exploit people in a sexual or violent manner; (f) be obscene or offensive, endorse any form of hate or hate group; or (g) be deemed inappropriate by Sponsor, in Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion.  At any time during the Contest, Sponsor’s representatives reserve the right to disqualify any participant, in his/her sole discretion, if he/she believes the participant is deemed inappropriate.

PRIZES:

Each contestant will have the opportunity to win up to $1,000.  The contestants who successfully kick a qualified 30-yard field goal will receive $1,000. Every contestant will have the opportunity to win up to $1,000 regardless of the success of the other contestants. The total value of the prize is $1,000 per contestant for the 30-yard field goal. The total number of prizes that can be awarded is 3 out of 3 prize notices distributed and depends on the total number of contestants that complete a successful field goal kick. The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received and successful completion of a field goal kick from the 20-yard line.  The winner will be notified immediately following the field goal kick by a Sponsor representative.

RELEASE:

By entering, entrant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and release, defend, hold  harmless and indemnify the Promotion Entity their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, contractors, directors, officers, governors, employees and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”) against any and all liability, damages or causes of action (however named or described), with respect to or arising out of any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising out of the Contest, or the entrant’s participation in the field goal kick Contest and caused by the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of a prize awarded in the Contest, including, but not limited to, any claims for damage to property, personal injury, death or claims based on defamation, rights of privacy, rights of publicity or merchandise delivery. Entrants participate in the Contest at their own risk.

The Promotion Entity shall not be liable to the winner (or any person acting on behalf of the winner) for failure to supply a Prize, or any part thereof, for any reason out of the Promotion Entity’ reasonable control, including, without limitation, any acts of God, any action,  regulation, order or request by any governmental or quasi-governmental entity (whether or not the action, regulation, order or request proves to be invalid), equipment failure, terrorist acts, earthquake, war, fire, flood, explosion, unusually severe weather, hurricane, embargo, labor dispute or strike (whether legal or illegal), labor or material shortage, transportation interruption of any kind, work slow-down, civil disturbance, game cancellation, insurrection or riot.

The Promotion Entity shall not be liable to any entrant for damages arising out of (I) any printing or typographical errors in the Official Rules or any other materials associated with the Promotion or (ii) any errors in the administration of the Contest, including, without limitation, the processing of entries. The Promotion Entity are not responsible for and shall not be liable for any condition caused by events beyond their control that may cause the Promotion to be disrupted.

 PUBLICITY:

Except when prohibited by law, by entering the drawing and participating, the entrant(s) grants Sponsor the right to publicize the entrant(s) name, photograph, image, likeness, voice, statements, and biographical information in all manner and media, worldwide, in perpetuity, for advertising, trade, and promotion purposes without compensation and without opportunity for review.

GENERAL:

The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to amend, change, cancel or suspend the Contest or any portion of the Contest at any time for any reason and to randomly award a Prize from among eligible entries received at the time of such action, should malicious or other causes beyond the Sponsor’s control corrupt the administration or proper execution of the Promotion (as determined in the Sponsor’s sole discretion).

The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any entrant found or suspected to be: (i) tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or (ii) acting in violation of these Official Rules. Any attempt by an entrant to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be in violation of criminal and civil laws, and the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such entrant to the fullest extent permitted by law.

The Sponsor reserves the right to amend or change the Official Rules at any time, in its sole discretion. By entering the Contest after the amendment of the Official Rules, the entrant consents to be bound by the amendments.
